Join a Zoom Meeting

There are multiple ways to join a Zoom meeting. Clcik any of the methods below to expand instructions.

  1. Log in to Blackboard
  2. Navigate to the course whose meeting you wish to attend
  3. Click the Zoom tool link. (If you cannot find a Zoom tool link, see directions below.)
  4. Locate the meeting session you wish to attend and click Join. If the meeting time has already begun, you may need to find your meeting in the Previous Meetings tab.

  5. A new tab or window will open in your browser. You may have to click the "Launch Application" or "Open Zoom Meetings" button that appears. If it is your first time joining a Zoom meeting, you may need to install the Zoom software at this step.
  6. Finally, click the green button to join your speakers and microphone to the Zoom Meeting, or click Phone Call to dial in.You can also select the Phone option if you do not intend to connect audio.

You instructor may have posted a hyperlink to a Zoom meeting in your course, or may have emailed the link to the class. A Meeting ID and, possibly, Meeting Password, may be included in the Zoom invitation.

  1. Click the hyperlink (or copy the URL and paste it in your browser bar) to go to the meeting
  2. Enter the Meeting ID, if requested
  3. Enter the Meeting Password, if requested
  4. A new tab or window will open in your browser. You may have to click the "Launch Application" or "Open Zoom Meetings" button that appears. If it is your first time joining a Zoom meeting, you may need to install the Zoom software at this step.
  5. Finally, click the green button to join your speakers and microphone to the Zoom Meeting, or click Phone Call to dial in.You can also select the Phone option if you do not intend to connect audio.

If your instructor has provided the Zoom Meeting ID (and possibly password), you can join Zoom in multiple ways.

Zoom Website

  1. With the Meeting ID, you can launch the Zoom website and click Join a Meeting.
  2. You will be prompted to enter the Meeting ID (and possibly the password).

Zoom App

The Zoom app is available for Android and iPhone smartphones. Search your app store for the Zoom Cloud Meetings app.

  1. With the Meeting ID, you can launch the Zoom app and click Join a Meeting.
  2. You will be prompted to enter the Meeting ID (and possibly the password).
