Upload Previously Recorded Video to Kaltura

Whether you used Kaltura Capture or another recorder to make your video, follow this process to upload media to our streaming media server. Video files are very large, but by using a media server, we can play files without having to download them -- just like on YouTube.

Videos Recorded with Kaltura Capture

If you did not upload your video immediately after recording it, you can upload it later using Kaltura Capture.

  1. Launch Kaltura Capture desktop recorder
  2. Click Manage
  3. Click the folder icon on the left of the program to open your Library
  4. Videos saved on your computer are listed here. Any videos not already uploaded will have an Upload button. Click the button to upload the media.

 

Videos not Recorded with Kaltura Capture

If you used your cell phone to record video, you can log in to Blackboard on your phone and quickly upload your video to Kaltura. Likewise, you can follow these steps to upload a video from your computer.

  1. Log in to Blackboard
  2. In the top right area of the screen, below your name, click Kaltura Media (Desktop Recorder)
  3. Wait for the My Media page to load. It may take several seconds.
  4. Click Add New (near top right of page), then Media Upload
  5. Choose a file to upload from your computer or device
  6. Edit the name and other information as necessary then click Save at the bottom.
  7. The video will now be available in the My Media area.
