Recording Options in Kaltura Capture

The Kaltura Capture recorder allows you to configure what you are recording. This post explains how to set up your recording configuration.

Control Widget Functions

The Kaltura Capture recorder's control widget has several functions:

Click an icon to turn off recording of that area . For example, if you do not want to record your computer screen, click the icon of the monitor. The icon will then become crossed out to show this area will not be recorded.
Click the arrow below an icon to expand a list of available devices. For example, if you have a webcam installed and it is not appearing in the icons, click the arrow to choose the webcam as a recording input.
- When the drop down panel is open, you can also view a preview of the recording input you have selected.
- Click the up arrow to close the dropdown panel.

Kaltura Capture allows multiple video inputs for a recording. So you can select both your computer screen and a webcam.

Once a recording has started, more features appear on the control widget.

1. Stop button appears and record button serves to pause and restart recording.
2. Cancel button appears. This button looks like the letter X and lets you cancel a recording immediately.
3. Draw button appears. Click the pencil icon to open the draw tool panel. You can draw live on a screen recording.
