How to Submit an Image in an Assignment

Basic Directions

If you need to submit an image for an assignment in Blackboard, you can easily attach the image. First, be sure of what your instructor is asking for. If you are supposed to include an image inside of another file, like a MS Word document, that is a different process. This process is for submitting an image all by itself. Second, make sure you have the image file on the same device on which you are using Blackboard. For example, if you took the image on your phone, but you log in to Blackboard on your PC, you will first need to move the image from the phone to the PC.

  1. In Blackboard, visit the assignment submission area to submit your work.
  2. Under Attach Files, click the appropriate button (Browse my Computer or Browse Cloud Storage)
  3. Locate the image you want to attach
  4. When you have attached the image, the file details will appear below the "Attached Files" text. You can click "Do not attach" to remove the file if you have made a mistake.
  5. Click Submit

The Easiest Method?

The easiest way to upload an image to Blackboard may be to simply do it using your phone -- with no need to move the image from the phone to a computer before uploading. The Blackboard app may be useful, but it is sometimes even easier to just...

  1. log in to Blackboard using your phone's web browser (not using the app).
  2. Then navigate to the submission area,
  3. click Browse my Computer,
  4. then select the image to upload as your submission.

Everyone's device is unique and so is everyone's level of tech comfort. This method may not work for everyone, but for some it will be the most direct approach.
